The "Senility Prayer"

Most everyone has heard of the Serenity Prayer. Everyone who has been a part of AA or some other 12 step support group knows it very well.
That prayer says:

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
The courage to change the things I can
And the wisdom to know the difference.

There is much wisdom in that prayer, and throughout the past 26 years that prayer has been used by me personally many, many times.

This morning, Libby was reading her calendar with quotes by Christian author and comedian, Barbara Johnson, and she ran across this version of that prayer, which I immediately claimed as my own and will be adding permanantly to the top of my blog effective today.

I hope you find somewhere near the same kind of humor/wisdom that I find in this one.

God grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway,
The good fortune to run into the ones I do
And the eyesight to know the difference.
(Barb Johnson)
