This is from my daily devotions:
Wrecking balls, jackhammers, and even explosives bring mighty structures crashing to the ground. But old-timers know an easier, if slower, way: Tear a hole in the roof and let nature take its course. Rain, wind, heat, ice, and even wild animals can use that small hole to enter and slowly rot a house from within. That’s just how it works. Stop painting metal and it rusts; stop treating wood and it rots. In this world, things fall apart.
Through Moses, God warned that Korah’s small rebellion could rip Israel apart and undo all the work God was doing among His people.
He warned the assembly, “Move back from the tents of these wicked men! Do not touch anything belonging to them, or you will be swept away because of all their sins” (Numbers 16:26).
One bitter voice full of hatred and division—that’s all it takes to start tearing down the house of God. Scripture repeatedly warns us to avoid the corrosive effects such people can have on our spirits. Draw near to your Creator, and let Him take care of those who do nothing but destroy.
