Revive Your Works In the Midst of the Years

I don't have to go into a long list of things happening to prove to you that the world we are living in is going crazy. I was talking with someone earlier today about the change in my lifetime. Morality is all but gone, and when you dare speak of morality the liberal mindset that permeates our landscape snaps back at you, "What gives you the right to determine what is right and what is wrong?"  It does not take a Bible scholar to be able to build a solid argument from the Word of God that we are truly living in the last days. All the signs point to one conclusion... Jesus is coming soon. If you are a Born again Christian, that is good news... or it should be. The problem is that the church is doing a lousy job of telling this world that the end is near and that they need Jesus. We need a real revival where men and women... cities and even Nations turn back toward God.

I was thinking and praying about how to reach the lost of our community tonight and my mind was drawn to this passage in Habakkuk 3:2

Lord, I have heard thy speech, and was afraid: O Lord, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy.  (KJV)

I do a lot of reading from the Contemporary English Version and this is how that verse read in the CEV...
I know your reputation, Lord,

and I am amazed
    at what you have done.
Please turn from your anger
    and be merciful;
do for us what you did
    for our ancestors.

I believe that this is the prayer that the believers are going to have to pray, and pray fervently. Our Nation is falling under judgment because we (collectively) have turned away from God and have called good evil and evil good. We must repent and ask God, like Sampson did, if he would move just one more time. We need revival. Not just for the sake of our Nation... but for the sake of the people. Hell is enlarging and swelling in preparation for all that are willingly walking away from the mercy and grace of the Lord. I believe they need to see the miraculous power of God in our day, like those that have gone before us saw, so that men may believe.

Let it happen Lord. Be merciful and move in our land once again!
