Stop! It's a Trap!

I read a post on Facebook a couple of weeks ago that said, "There is free cheese in a mousetrap."  That has stuck in my mind ever since. I know that any time you talk about entitlements and welfare, it is a very tough subject and you risk offending someone. Allow me to start off by saying that Social Security for our seniors who have worked and paid into it is not an "entitlement" at all. They have earned this. They invested into the program for years to provide for themselves in their senior years. Personally, I think it is criminal what the government has done to Social Security. Illegal aliens and folks who are well able to work but would rather sit on the couch and drink or eat themselves into what has been determined "disability" should not be given one dime of Social Security money. We need to protect our Seniors and their retirement funds.

Now to the real issue... the real "entitlement" mindset. Those that are on the government dole, who have chosen not to work, but to take "free" money. (There is no such thing as free money)  Right here in my own little town, I could personally introduce you to a slew of young girls/women (it's hard to call a 16 year old a woman) who have chosen the route of dropping out of school and getting pregnant as a means of drawing a check. Yes, I mean that literally. I know several who have openly admitted that they purposely got pregnant for this purpose. I know one family that has told their teenage daughter to get pregnant so that they could draw a check to take care of her child while she finishes school. I know many people who simply refuse to get a job because they can make almost as much money on welfare as they could earn by working at a job, and their reasoning is such that they feel why work when they can be free to do nothing and draw a check and get food stamps. Now, by no means am I saying that everyone on welfare or every teen that has gotten pregnant has this mindset. In fact, I know one teen mom who is driven to improve her life so that she does not have to stay on welfare. That, to me, is the purpose of welfare. It is a hand up, not a hand out. But the sad truth is, that way too many people on welfare have their hand out, taking what ever they can get without consideration to the fact that someone is working and paying for this. I have people tell me all the time that if there is something out there you can get free, you ought to take advantage of it. That is a pathetic mindset and one that is destroying this nation. The worst thing about it is that this was a plan set out by the Democrats and black folks have simply ignored that they have been drawn into the trap, like a mouse coming after the cheese! I have tried, literally dozens of times to show friends of mine who are black or who are firmly entrenched in the liberal mindset a quote that ought to wake them up like a bucket of ice water being thrown on them, but they simply refuse to believe it is true, but is is a solid, documented fact. When Lyndon Johnson was talking about signing into law what is known as the "Great Society" plan, he said, and I quote, “I’ll have those niggers voting Democratic for the next 200 years.” Don't take my word for it, go look it up. He said it. His words were prophetic. Blacks and now Hispanic and countless others who have taken the bait and eaten the cheese are solidly Democrats and they cannot tell you why. The problem is, they don't want to admit why. If they vote for someone outside of this "free cheese" mentality, the free ride is over, and it means they have to work. What they have effectively done is taken the chains of slavery and voluntarily slipped them onto their ankles and wrists. Say that to them and they become enraged and call you a racist. Funny, those who actually want to free them and give them the opportunity to better themselves are racists, and they cannot see the mindset of LBJ throughout the Democratic party. They refuse to look at the likes of Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Julian Bond and many others who have sold out their own people. They themselves have become rich by enslaving their own people.

Yes, there is free cheese... but it's a trap.
