Just Wondering Out Loud

I'm really wondering, all this stuff in the Bible where it talks of pursuing holiness... is it all just a put on, or did God mean it? Seems that with all that is being taught and preached now days, very few believe it anymore. Just believe on Jesus and it doesn't matter how we live... at least that's what they say.
