Don't Abort The Promise Inside of You

(The following is adapted from a sermon I preached some time ago. It has been running through my mind all day, so I dug it our of my archived files and adapted it to shorten it a bit.)

How many have had a Word from God where has spoken a promise into your life, that you have not yet received? Do you realize that you are spiritually pregnant with God’s seed? Have you grown weary during the developmental process of the promise or vision that you have been carrying on the inside? If so, I have some good news for you today.

I believe that many of God’s people are pregnant with God’s promises. What’s more, I believe the birthing of these promises are close at hand.

May I speak a warning to you today? Don’t allow the enemy to come in and abort the baby that the Lord has placed inside of you!

Jeremiah 1:4-6 – Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying: “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” Then said I: “Ah Lord God! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth.” But the Lord said to me: “Do not say, ‘I am a youth,’ for you shall go to all to whom I send you, and whatever I command you, you shall speak.”

I believe it’s time for the body of Christ to quit speaking such negativity into our lives. Our negativity has the capability to abort the spiritual promises that are being developed in us. We must stop speaking negative words over our promised seed. We must align ourselves with God’s will in order to birth what He has placed on the inside of us. If we fail to do this, we will suffer the consequences of our disobedience.

Jeremiah told the Lord, “I cannot speak, for I am a youth.” The Lord replied, “Do not say, ‘I am a youth.’”

In other words, the Lord was basically saying, “Don’t be talking like this Jeremiah. Your words are negative and they are not lining up with My will for your life. Do not say, ‘I cannot,’ when I have said, you can.”

When the Lord tells us to do something, it means that He has already equipped us to accomplish the command. When we respond to His command with, “I cannot,” we are positioning ourselves for a spiritual abortion.

God’s promises are so much bigger than our finite minds can comprehend. This is why Scripture declares, “The just shall live by faith.”

Another way of saying that is, "The just shall not live by what they see in the natural realm."

The just shall not live by doubt and unbelief.

The just shall live by faith.

Faith supersedes the natural. Faith speaks to those things that are not as though they were.
Faith says, “Yes and amen,” when God speaks.
Faith causes God’s seed on the inside of us to grow to maturity.
Faith walks us through the birthing process and delivers the promises of God.
It takes faith to birth the spiritual baby that’s inside your womb.

God is looking for people who have the faith necessary to birth His plans and purposes in the earth.

Without faith, we will accomplish absolutely nothing.

We must learn how to lay hold of the supernatural, by faith, and align ourselves with the will of God. When God speaks His word to us, it’s like supernatural seed. If we receive that word by faith, God will begin to breathe on that word or water that seed in a supernatural way. That word/seed will begin to grow on the inside of us and in the fullness of time spiritual birthing will take place.
The seed that was placed in us supernaturally will eventually be manifested in the natural realm.

A pregnant mother usually carries a baby in her womb for approximately nine months. During this time period, she is not physically able to see the baby, but she can feel the baby moving around on the inside of her. At the end of the nine month pregnancy, the baby must be birthed.
As the woman begins to push, the baby begins to come through the birth canal. Once the delivery has taken place, the mother will then be able to see the manifestation of that which she carried around on the inside of her for nine long months. Once she sees the baby, she is filled with gladness and joy because something supernatural has just been performed.

Christians are God’s birthing channels on this earth. The Lord desires to impregnate us with His purposes and vision. As carriers of God’s supernatural seed, we must be careful to protect the pregnancy. We must carry the baby/seed full-term, allowing nothing to interfere with the birthing process.

John 10:10 – Jesus said, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”

The enemy does not want us to fulfill God’s purposes in the earth. So, he will do everything in his power to get us to line up with his negative thinking in order to destroy the seed that God has supernaturally placed in our womb.

Proverbs 18:21 – Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.

We need to understand that our thoughts and our words carry power, be it negative power or positive power. The words that we speak will produce either good fruit or bad fruit.
As Christians, we must be life producers. We must be good fruit producers.
The words that we speak on a day to day basis must be words that Jesus Christ Himself would be able to speak.

I challenge you today to take a good look on the inside and deal with negativity.
Deal with doubt and unbelief and get right with God so that you can be a life producer for Him.

Isaiah 55:11 – So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish (perform) what I please, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

When God sends forth His word, it’s filled with destiny and purpose. This is why it’s so imperative for us to align ourselves with that word. The word that God gives to us is actually causing us to fulfill or accomplish our destiny in Him.

Sometimes I think we don't step out for fear of flubbing our words, or embarrassment, or not sure if it's really God speaking. That's why it's imparative that we be in His Word - spend time with Him - that we know His voice. It is frightening to step out - but it's even more frightening to NOT when God tells us to.
