Now I've Heard Everything!

This is the craziest thing I have heard yet from the whacko's that run television. At the very time they are fighting to defend the views of a nut case like Rosey, and they are fighting to air shows that throw the "F" word around like candy... while they are pushing the limits of indecency further and further, and the president of CBS just recently said publicly that he felt it was time to end the government censoring television... they go and pull this.

Veggie Tales... Bob, Larry and the gang were given a regular 30 minute tv show, only to find out that they cannot mention God or the Bible in any manner that is not historical. For example, their signature closing of "Remember kids, God made you special and he loves you very much" has been edited from all shows. Man, those words are really going to hurt someone, won't they!
Any mention of God helping you... that's taboo too.
Only the historical mention of God is permissible. No mention of God being good. No talking about God's blessings or strenth. That might infringe on someone's religous belief's and offend someone.

What a crock!

You can read the Fox News story about this here

I say we need to let NBC know how we feel by voicing our outrage with a letter or an email and then a total boycott of their channel and sponsors.

what an outrage! When people place God as an object of History, it's pretty sad! He is very much a part of NOW! and people had better be getting it through their thick noggins'! The network thing really ticks me off and I hope everyone that objects will speak up! When I first heard that Veggie Tales was going to be on network tv, I thought it was going to be a good thing! What is NBC thinking?!

I suppose I'm also a little disappointed that Big Idea would allow that. They had to have given permission for the show to be edited in such a way, no?

Hi Connie, and thanks for stopping by!
Actually, from reading the news article, it does not sound like this was clear to the man who created Veggie Tales at all. He says that if he had known what was going to happen, he would never have signed the contract.

How will they ever sing "God is Bigger Than the Boogie Man"

CBS airs the "F" word, ABC let's Rosie have here way and now NBC is taking the battle to the Veggies, makes me wonder what stupid and moronic thing that FOX will do to keep up with the other stations?

Before long we will only have TBN to watch, and I won't even begin to open that jar of worms!

Thanks for letting me know Darrell. I've been a Veggie-Lover for the past 6 years. I cried when I found out that Big Idea had filed bankruptcy and was being bought out by a different company, and I'm so glad that they've been able to go on in spite of that. Bob and Larry are very well loved in my house!

Our religious liberties are being chipped away little by little in the name of tolerance. There is a persecution coming here in America. Christian's that do not know what they stand for or are not willing to suffer for them will be swept up and washed away by the waves of persecution.

You're right, Sean. Christians need to wake up. This is NOT a free country anymore!

After looking at the issue some more, and reading the Big Idea newsletter, I'm not so sure we can only blame NBC and evil society... We Christians sometimes give up things to get the wider audience - it's an old story. We give them up willingly then complain when they aren't there.
