Take Care of the Little Things!

The following is from today’s devotion found in “The Word For You Today” from Bob Gass Ministries. I thought it was excellent and needed to be shared.

"IF YOU'RE WORN OUT IN THIS FOOTRACE WITH MEN,
WHAT MAKES YOU THINK YOU CAN RACE AGAINST HORSES?"
JEREMIAH 12:5

Is the giant you're facing real, or are you just letting the little stuff gang up on you?
Jeremiah was alarmed when he saw his people struggling with the little things.
Listen: "If you're worn out in this footrace with men, what makes you think you can race against horses? And if you can't keep your wits during times of calm, what's going to happen when troubles break loose like the Jordan in flood?" (Jer 12:5 TM).

You need to win some small victories every day, whether it be curbing your appetite or choosing your attitude. Satan studies your history and determines what you can handle, then decides his strategy accordingly.
It's the small battles that prepare you for the big ones.
Before you can run a marathon you have to run a mile.
Tackle the little problems with diligence and expect some pain along the way.
Training is hard work.
Develop your prayer life by spending 5 or 10 minutes with God each morning; if you work it right, some day you may be qualified to sing, "Sweet hour of prayer."
Instead of feeling bad that you haven't read your Bible from cover to cover, pick a chapter or a Psalm that relates to where you are in your spiritual walk, and live with it for a while.
You're not turning in a book report, you're building a life.
It's your "all or nothing attitude" that's keeping you stuck.
Go back to basics.
Take care of the little stuff.

Wow, this is exactly where im at !!! just last night in one of our ""daily battles"" at home i was saying to God ""i cant do this anymore help me lord""..... i let little things throw me into a tailspin getting myself worked up and saying "UUGG I GIVE UP "" (but i still dont )Im hanging on for dear life!!! and God is my rope.. if that makes sense. I need to trust him MORE with the little things, and to ride the roller coster of daily life with him!!!
