"It's Over!"

So, it's barely noon on December 26 and I've already seen people posting on Facebook that their Christmas decorations are down and put away. Christmas is over. That's just sad. Billions of dollars spent, songs sung, cards and gifts exchanged... and it's over. People don't even understand what Christmas is anymore. The whole thing about the "Twelve Days of Christmas" is not just a song. There is a deeper meaning. Sadly, most are clueless. They decorated for two months and tear it all down right at the time that it really applies to. It's all about the commercialism and hype and it all crashes the day after Christmas Day and people are in a hurry to move on to something else. This really is sad, because today's approach to Christmas totally undercuts the meaning of Christmas and adds to the concept that Christmas is all about dollars and cents. If you're interested in the history of it and the meaning that is lost, take some time to educate yourself. You can begin right here.
