Attitude Counts!

This morning I've noticed several people on Facebook making comments such as, This day sucks; This is going to be a bad day; Life sucks; and other similar statements. I've commented on a couple of them that they need to change their attitude, or change their perspective, but most responded negatively. I've been sitting here  thinking about the way we think and how it affects our lives. There have been people who have made a lot of money talking and writing about "thinking positive" but I submit that positive thinking alone will not get the job done. Rather, we need to think and confess what the Bible says.

I have jokingly said before when someone told me to be more positive: "I'm positive that I'm having a bad day." The thing is, many live that way. It's like they have a dark cloud hanging over their head all the time and everything that comes from their mouth is negative and hopeless. We have to change the way we think and act. Our attitude is key to the outcome of our life. Again, I'm not just talking about "thinking positive" but rather, thinking in line with what the Word of God says.  Some people need to realize that God is for them, not against them. They need to read and comprehend where the Bible says, "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
God does not want any of us to have a bad day... let alone a bad life!  Jesus said he gives us peace; not turmoil and stress.
The Bible says that he will keep us "in perfect peace." So, why are so many not living in that peace? Because there is a condition to it! It says he will keep us in perfect peace... IF our mind is steadfast... IF our mind... our thoughts are on God and His Word and His ways... not ours!  When we live a life in such a way that we are constantly either creating drama or placing ourselves in the middle of drama... then we get what we have asked for.  End of story!

I choose to think on those things that are true, and honorable, and right, and pure and lovely and praiseworthy. (Philippians 4:8) In these thoughts, there is blessing and peace. Paul told us to take our thoughts and imaginations captive. What he was saying is to take control over... subdue your mind. Change your attitude!  It makes a huge  difference!
